Welcome Hitchhikers!

Happy New Year Dance Music Fans!

I've been doing the Hitchhiker's Dance Guide for a short time (about 4 months now). In December '06, I received a few Emails encouraging me to put up a playlist for each Saturday night. One of my new year's resolutions is to take people's advice more seriously. From here and out I'll be posting what I play every week. Also, I'll let everybody know when artists/DJs from other parts of the world are coming to Memphis. It's always a pleasure having talented entertainers here in Memphis.

Furthermore, this is another avenue for making requests in advance to give me an opputunity to locate your favorite tunes before Saturday evening. It gives me an overwhelming sense of satisfaction when people enjoy the music that they hear.

I'm proud to be part of an institute that is operated by volunteers and supported by the audience - not only monetarily, but also on an emotional level. The Hitchhiker's Dance Guide is also the longest running dance music program in the United States. It was started in 1989 by Graflin, a very talented Memphis DJ and producer who still tours Germany anually. Stephen Schocke took over the program in 1995 with a great deal of energy and passion for the progressive sound of electronic music.

And now, as I take the reins of this renowned program, I hope to continue to educate the audience and broaden their horizons as they both did for me. I try to play a little bit of almost everything within the confines of dance music. My vision of the HHDG is to have people appreciate all types of subgenres of "techno." The truth of the matter is that there's always something for somebody, and every track has something in it that you can look at and smile about.
