This week the 1st hour was all about Memphis Artists. I played mostly older music by these producers & singers, too. Hopefully, you felt a hint of nostalgia when you heard the music. I know I did.
Critikal - The Opener; I love the reverb effect on the guitar work & the emotional influence from that along with melody from the synthesizer on this downtempo cut.
The Sky Patrol - Passageways; This will always be one of my fave house tracks from this artist b/c it's so well done!
Afro-Saxon Project F/ Mr. White - Come Together; I remember dancing to this one at a party in 2000 while Graflin spun the instrumental ver. so that Mr. White could sing on stage to it.
SiM - Amen; This is a very intense DnB cut that leaves me wanting more
Plan B - Darkness Lurks; An original Critikal track modified by himself with the help of The Sky Patrol: the result was an incredible high NRG trance track that gets me motivated to dance every time!
The Musik Junkies - Return To Normalcy; A dark trance thang that has a twinge of euphoria created by the build from the resonant guitar-sounding synthesizer - reminiscent of the epic genre of trance.
Mary Jane - Creeper [Beatport]; Mary Jane collaborated with Plan B to create one of the best Progressive Tribal tracks with an incredible breakbeat climax. Congrats on Beatport picking up this one.
The Space Spartan - The Art Of Attention; Former HHDG host, Stephen Schocke played this one last (many years ago.) This is the original, which is shorter, but certainly has an affect on my soul due to the desert-like tribal vibe from the Indian instrument used.
