Dave is a great DJ huh?
His sound definitely brings me memories of the glory days of progressive.
And Chris' set was wonderful as well... was that recorded live?
And thanks for the Kovikko... it's such a intensely gorgeous track. Great three hours of music.
My set was recorded on the 27th of July, a week before it was aired. I did only get one take at the recording. So, I picked out the track based on the keys and then I confirmed the keys as best I could. Then I recorded without a rehearsal.
Oh, and as it turns out the 8th track was supposed to be a D# minor and the 7th track was a F# minor, but they didn't sound exactly right together. So, I went back and started keying the 8th track again. As it turns out, the 8th track is actually a G# minor. That explains why they didn't sound exactly right together. The 9th track is a G# minor as well. So, they did sound tonic with one another. The 8th and 9th track were the only tracks where a chord was repeated. The rest of the chords are all unique to one another. I was hoping to make a mix where none of the chords were repeated.
Well, on second listen, I supoose that they are a tad off, but they don't clash to me. It's passable, and surely a mix I wouldn't hesitate to make if I were in a jam.
Dave & Chris are both outstanding DJs. It's a pleasure to air them on WEVL. The music they spin is emotional & the journey they take you on is blissful! Perfection is what they strive for & I feel they achieve just that. They would tell you otherwise since they scrutinize their own creations & expose their miniscule weaknesses. There's nothng wrong with that since they realize that it's the only way they'll reach the summit. I feel like their heads are already touching the clouds though.
