WEVL was graced with the presence and skills of a man responsible for bringing Chicago house to Memphis. This producer and DJ's name is Danari and he has produced music with Graflin, the creator of the HHDG, and Mr. White, also from Memphis. Graflin and Danari combined make up The Afro-Saxon Project. Stephen Schocke, 11-year former DJ of the HHDG, and I have both played different mixes of "Come Together" and "Spread Your Love," each with vocals by Mr. White. Excellent house creations are the gifts that these artists provided for our listening pleasure, but that is not the only asset Danari has...

Love for the music shines through when Danari spins, too. He has resided alongside with Graflin at Zanzibar and in The Dungeon at Club 616. When Danari is spinning at a party, his goal of connecting with the audience inspires him to venture into memory lane many times via classics that helped pave the way for other DJs in the 1990s. His ability to know when to take these turns into nostalgia or keep the flow of the journey steady with his new favorites is from his experiences as a club DJ.
